Twin First Birthday Party Theme
There were so many cute ideas for a twins first birthday theme. I decided to go with the Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, How Onederful You Both Are for their birthday party. The theme I went with for their nursery was a star theme as well, so it seemed fitting to do something to tie that in with their first birthday. Since their first birthday was during the Covid-19 Pandemic we were just going to have a Zoom call with family. But that didn’t mean I couldn’t make it cute and special for their birthday.
Twinkle Twinkle Little Star Birthday Decorations
I knew that I wanted to have some sort of backdrop for the Zoom call. I went looking on Amazon for star photography backdrops and came across this navy one with gold stars that became the color palette for the birthday party as well. It was also cute to set the twins up in front of the backdrop for a little birthday photoshoot. I found cute little onesies that had the number 1 on them and also came with a bib that said birthday boy. The star pillows were ones I purchased at Target when I was getting their nursery put together and I can’t find a link for them.
If you were thinking of doing a Twinkle Twinkle Little Star theme for a twin birthday party that wasn’t for their first birthday or even for a baby shower then you might want to have some balloons. We didn’t do balloons because you know babies and choking hazard. If I was going to add in balloons here is a set that look really cute and match the navy and gold color theme.
Since we were just planning for a Zoom call with family I also did not go all out like I usually do on birthday party themes. You can check out some of my other birthday party blog posts here. But if I was to plan this for an in person event here are some ideas I would have considered for the theme. Some fun plastic tablecloths if you are renting out a party room space and want to cover up the banquet/folding tables. These cute little gold star plates or even this navy and gold party pack set of plates/napkins/cups.
Being that it was the twins’ first birthday you know we also had to decorate the high chairs. I did a banner that I found on Etsy that said Twinkle Twinkle Little Star How Onederful You Both Are to hang up on the wall behind them. If you wanted to do just a simple banner for the decor or if you are doing it for a baby shower or other type of event here is a Twinkle Twinkle Little Star banner. I also had a friend use her Cricut to create the One banners that I hung on their chairs.
We didn’t do a cake for the twins birthday but opted for cupcakes for them to do their birthday smash. I purchased some plain vanilla cupcakes from Target and put a cute cupcake wrapper around it. If I was to do a cake and wanted a cake topper to match the theme, here is one that I had pinned for the party.
Gift Ideas for a Twinkle Twinkle Little Star Themed Party
I like to match the wrapping paper or gift bags to the party theme. There are always plenty of star patterned wrapping paper but I wanted to find some that was navy with gold stars. I can’t find the link to the exact wrapping paper that I used. I found this set that is similar and has three rolls of coordinating paper.
If you are doing the theme for a first birthday party or for a toddler aged kid that would still use sleep sacks at night, this navy star patterned sleep sack is really cute and went well with the theme. I mentioned that I did a star theme in their nursery so I had some items I was able to pull from their room for the party. However, if you are thinking of doing the Twinkle Twinkle Little Star theme for a baby shower then you might want to consider some star themed nursery decor items. I will share some links to items I purchased for the twins’ star nursery theme.
This was a fun and simple birthday party theme. I hope you found some of the ideas inspirational or that this blog post was helpful in planning your party.
